Food getting scary expensive?

I'm pretty frugal, shop as cheaply as possible try to buy on offers etc. Doing a shop today kinda threw me - everything seems about 20-30p more expensive than I remember it being at the end of the year. Seemed to go from pretty luxurious at £20/person/wk and over the last yr it's been creeping up so limiting the amount of 'luxury' products - but now at £30/person/wk it still seems tricky to do. The heck is going on or have I just been eating at the 19p christmas veg trough for too long? There is no way to cut it much further.
