I’m concerned about the rhetoric around the Grenfell Report

For example, see this link: Grenfell Tower fire report 'gives victims the truth', says PM https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-50230188

A lot of politicians seem determined to paint this as the whole picture, end of story... victims have been “given the truth,” but that’s not the case.

Not that the report is a lie or anything like that, but that the enquiry was split into sections. The first phase (which this report is on) is purely about the reaction to the fire, not the causes/prevention.

It feels as though there’s a concerted effort from the government to land this at the feet of the fire service and them alone, hoping the attention moves on. I can think of two possible reasons for this (the Tory council that oversaw the renovations which will likely be criticised, and the Tory cuts to London’s fire service/fire safety).

While I’m glad the report states that all those who attended the fire are heroes in no uncertain terms, and the criticism of the fire service is around planning and the lack of lessons learned by those higher up the chain, in very concerned that the government seems determined to paint this as the overall conclusion with nothing more to see, even though that is demonstrably not the case.
