What is the difference between a posh accent and an RP accent? (linguistics experts please help!)

I often see people distinguish between the two, but I'm still a bit confused about the difference. What makes an upper class accent different from RP? For example, I know posh people can also speak in RP...if they speak in RP, how do you tell they are an upper class accent ? What are the giveaways ?

Also what does a posh accent sound like if the speaker does not speak any RP whatsoever? And lastly, how do you tell the difference between someone who speaks in a posh *london* accent, compared to let's say...a posh oxford accent?
